We are open daily from 11am to residents and non-residents alike, so come on in, get comfy and discover our drinks selection and, quite possibly, your new favourite tipple.
We’re proud to welcome everyone to ‘The Inn’ including walkers, runners, cyclists, dog owners and families with children too. All our drinking and dining areas are wheelchair accessible while the bar, lounge and beer garden are our dog friendly zones with towels, treats and water bowls never far away.
The bar itself features an impressive and imposing 20ft long, solid oak bar that was handcrafted by local carpenter and sheep farmer, Paul Metcalfe. The bar takes its name from the hotel itself which was previously known as ‘The Hydro’ due to an eco-friendly water supply that was pumped from the nearby mill at Goathland Railway Station. In the 1980s our beloved hotel was renamed to ‘The Inn on the Moor’ but a tribute to our heritage can be seen in brass plaque form if you look closely when ordering your drinks.
You can enjoy Grannies’ home-baking with a hot or soft drink as you sit in front of the roaring log fire and catch up with friends, or relax and unwind in the beer garden and watch the world go by. Our bar is proudly stocked with a wide array of real ales, lager and cider as well as carefully selected wines and the largest selection of ‘Yorkshire Gins’ in Goathland. Alongside our extensive drinks menu, we also have a selection of snacks, cocktails and our well-loved own brand coffee ‘The Ferret That Ran’ available daily, so the choice is yours, which end of the bar are you starting at?
